These two, 'Affiliate Marketing' and 'Network Marketing' are different and yet so very similar that I list them together as my third choice for earning semi-passive income. They're alike in that your basic function as either one is to refer people to firms who have products and services that you recommend and those firms pay you when the people you referred make a purchase. Network Marketing firms typically pay additional group commissions to those who actually build an effective sales organization.
Use either or both 'Affiliate' and 'Network Marketing' as a distribution channel for your business products or services.
Partner with a company as an 'affiliate' or as a Network Marketing Professional to generate supplemental income.
What I like best about these two business models is their low cost of entry. The idea of starting a business of your own is exciting but most business models require a significant amount of your time, energy, resources and money and are not without risk. However, with these two models, you could do either or both of these part-time for a start-up cost of less than $200 so your potential risk of lost time and capital is minimal.

Affiliate Marketing is when you promote the products, services or business opportunity of another person or company via your blog or other internet property and get paid for it. As an affiliate, you're the salesperson who helps make the sale, so the company rewards you and there's no need for you to carry inventory. Typical commissions can range from 5% - 50% but in the Health, Nutrition and Beauty space - the average commission seems to be only 3% to 4 percent. The process of a company 'selling via affiliates' has been around long before the internet. Today - when someone clicks on your affiliate link and makes a purchase from the firm you're promoting, you get a commission.

Network Marketing includes a framework for building and expanding the parent company's sales organization. Commissions on product sales from most Network Marketing companies aren't any higher than what you might earn as an affiliate. However, as a Network Marketer, you can earn 'group commissions' on the products and services sold by others in your networking group. There are many Network Marketing Companies with good quality products and services and they all claim loudly that they're the very best choice.
Within the Network Marketing Industry, companies choose either MLM, Matrix, or Binary Systems as their compensation process or method. Personally, I would hesitate to use the multi-level compensation structure of the typical MLM. My reason is simply this; I would want you to be able to earn as much or more than I or anyone else does right from the very beginning when you start. Therefore my preference is for management performance compensation plans like that found within the UnFranchise® System which uses a hybrid of the binary method for calculating and allocating commissions.
When choosing a Network Marketing firm to work with, it may be wise to try the products or services first - before agreeing to become a distributor. If you genuinely like the service or product(s) then it'll be much easier for you to recommend it to anyone else. In addition to your own sales, also realize that your roll as a Network Marketer is to sponsor others to help them grow their own effective team or networking group so choose a company that offers mentorship and training for all affiliates.

GENERATING CASH FLOW: You can sell products and services without the hassle of inventory, shipping and related overhead. Look for something that you can promote that pays a reasonable commission. Commissions are an allowance paid to a sales person or agent for services rendered. Affiliates are typically paid a commission. Our affiliates also earn, in addition to the profits from their personal retail sales, a second paycheck per week for 'group commissions' using the same system I do.
There's no guarantee that you'll make any money at all but it's not difficult to figure out that if you can find the right system for you, then you can achieve your goals.
