From my own observation, the mindset of most employees regarding 'time' is that there's simply 'work time' and 'my personal time' or 'free time.'  The typical view regarding 'my personal time' is that it's for family, doing chores, paying bills, and then if anything is left - 'free time' is for entertainment.  Then it's back to one's job again to repeat the cycle - trading more time for money.  However, those employees who are 'entrepreneurial' in their pursuit of a dream, they choose to work for themselves - in their 'free time.' 

The problem is that even employees with an entrepreneurial spirit are still trading time for money.  Even when they strike out on their own to do business of their own making they're still - trading their time for money.  It's a fact that the majority of self-employed individuals work more hours every week than they did when they were an employee!  You can change that.

Think like an investor/entrepreneur who owns a 'business system' that generates multiple sources of income.

You can be an employee of your own corporation or employed by someone else in their company or self-employed and still also own a separate self-managing company.  My question is - do you have another source of income in addition to your day job that makes as much as your job?  One that doesn't depend on your day-to-day involvement?  Would you like to one day be able to say... "My part-time side business pays me more than my full time job."  If so, then to realize that dream, you'll initially have to invest some of your time by working on the side - in the beginning.  This is the process you'll follow if you want to make having multiple sources of income - your personal reality.  

One Rule: Whenever you can invest your time apart from your day job to be working on some business of your choosing, select an activity that'll result in something that'll keep paying you over and over again - after your work is done.  Make it a personal habit by developing an emotional attachment to this idea.  Be determined to build a business and not a job by making it self-managing.  Believe me, you'll like having the recurring net profits from your original efforts automatically deposited into your bank account on an on-going basis - over and over again while you're off doing something else.
